Christmas makes me happy!
In those 4 words I smile, I laugh and I act like a big child at heart.
I love Christmas…… not because of the gifts, not
for the religion, but for the simple fact that it is one time of the
year that we get together with our families and those who are friends
(or as I like to think, the family that I chose).
Forget about the money, forget about the gifts, both are nice, but they
are nothing without the people who you spend the day with.
I have friends who I don’t get to see one a
regular basis, or live overseas who I may or may not have ever met.
Christmas is the one time of the year that I stop and make sure that I
touch base with them. I try to do this throughout the
year, but don’t always find the time. We all leave busy lives and I am
sure that I am not alone in forgetting to reply to an email here or
there. At Christmas I make sure that my friends and family know that I
am thinking of them, that I am wondering what
they are up to and that we share a few laughs.
Each year I am thankful that I have my friends
and family around me, that I am safe and happy and I enjoy the month of
December. For the last few years I have decorated my office with an
abundance of lights, tinsel and decorations that
are only surpassed by my Christmas shirts, hats and bells. Ok so my
office has more lights than most houses, but it is festive and it makes
me smile and makes me happy.
